SHARING THEIR SPACE — Third-grade students at Union City Elementary School recently completed a unit of study of the solar system. They used many Internet Web sites and PowerPoint presentations to enhance their learning. Various art projects were also used to reinforce learning and creativity. Students were assigned optional space projects to turn in at the end of the unit. The third-grade teachers were very impressed with the ingenuity and unique ideas of all projects that were brought in to share with the class, according to third-grade teacher Suzanne Doss. Among the students in Mrs. Doss’s class who recently showcased their projects were (from left, front row) Caleb South, Kip Tilghman, Trajen Wood, Olivia James, Will Taylor, (back row) Edmond Valentine, Quimande Shearer, Kasaiya Fuller, Amber Weaks, Tripp Conley and Ariana Warner.
