The Messenger, February 8, 2013 Completed arrangements are being announced for Anna Lewis (DeBow) Garrigan, 92, of Hickman, Ky., who died Feb. 7, 2013, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church near Union City, with the Rev. Jim Calhoun officiating, assisted by the Rev. Hugh Barksdale. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. today at White-Ranson Funeral Home. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers and her Sunday school class will be honorary pallbearers. The family requests that memorials be made to Mt. Zion Cemetery Association, Mt. Zion United Methodist Church or the charity of the donor’s choice. She was born Nov. 21, 1920, in Greenville, Miss., daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Lee (Ellison) DeBow. She married Francis Parnell Garrigan Feb. 23, 1941. He died June 7, 1985. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and Mt. Zion United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the local chapter of Daughters of American Colonists. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Parnell and Charlotte Garrigan of Hickman; her daughter, Dee Anna Garrigan of Union City; her grandson and his wife, Rob DeBow and Melissa Garrigan of Union City; her granddaughter, Anna Nell Garrigan of Union City; two great-grandchildren, Anna-Reid Garrigan and Joshua Garrigan, both of Union City; and her sister, Kathryn Richardson of Sumpter, S.C. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley O’Keefe and Ruth Fowlkes Stigler. Condolences may be sent to the family at the funeral home website: www.white-ranson.com.
