Undercover operation leads to 14 drug arrests; 7 suspects still at large



An undercover operation by the 27th Judicial District Drug Task Force culminated with several drug-related arrests Friday in Obion County.
DTF officers conducted a roundup of several suspects indicted by the February term of the Obion County grand jury, which convened a week ago.
The drug task force had obtained 66 indictments on 21 different suspects as a result of an undercover operation conducted by the DTF, according to a spokesman for the unit.
The operation involved the purchase of crack cocaine from different individuals in Union City, and the charges included sale of a Schedule II controlled substance, sale of counterfeit Schedule II controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance.
Officers from the DTF, the Union City Police Department and the Obion County Sheriff’s Department started the roundup early Friday morning in Union City. All but seven suspects were arrested by 9:30 a.m.
The 14 suspects arrested Friday morning on capiases issued by the grand jury were Vaughn Westmoreland, Finis M. Jordan, Yavonne D. Williams, Angela F. Jenkins, Jerry J. Adams Jr., Deonnie R. Boykin, Melissa A. Jenkins, Reginald J. Jordan, Antonio T. Stephens, Phyllis K. Dickey, Nicholas L. Kenton, Angela D. Coble, Shanicka L. Wilkes and Agnes P. Pack.
The seven individuals still at large were identified as Ike B. Pettigrew, Mark A. Wilkins, Walter D. Cathey, Hallie M. McCampbell, Jermone M. Hyde, Leslie L. Brown and Danny L. Pettigrew, according to a DTF press release.
Anyone who has information about their whereabouts is asked to contact police.
Arraignments for those indicted by the grand jury were held at 9 this morning in Obion County Circuit Court. Published in The Messenger 2.11.13
