James Wilbur Brown Sr., 73, of Hornbeak died 6:35 a.m. Feb. 9, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. The Revs. Eddie Mallonee and Dale True will officiate. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak with Masonic rites.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Alvin Harrell, L.D. Faulkner, Joe Wheat, Hershel Minnick, Bobby Minnick and Randy Davis.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope, P.O. Box 482, Union City, TN 38281; or Second Baptist Church, 831 North Everett Blvd., Union City, TN 38261.
He was born July 10, 1939, in Hornbeak, son of the late Arthur and Nora Irlba (Prater) Brown. He married the former Mary Minnick April 11, 1982. She survives. He had retired from the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. after 25 years of service. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and Western Sun Masonic Lodge in Troy.
He is also survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie (Brown) and Scott Olds and Amanda (Brown) and Chris Capps, all of Martin, and Lorie (Brown) and Mike Hardin of Mason Hall; two sons and daughters-in-law, James W. Brown Jr. and Michele Brown of Martin and Stevie and Beth Brown of Troy; three sisters, Ann Williams and Kay Pleasant, both of Union City, and Angie Brewer of Abingdon, Va.; his brother, Mac Brown of Martin; and 12 grandchildren, Amy Beth Olds, Sara Anne Olds, Elizabeth Claire Capps, Emma Cameron Capps, Quentin D. Brown and Douglas Lowry Brown, all of Martin, Benjamin E. Powers of Union City, James Kendrick Hardin, Anna Katherine Hardin and Matthew Kyle Hardin, all of Mason Hall, and Jonathon Gatlin Brown and Keaten Andrew Brown, both of Troy.
 He was also preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Brown Murray.
