This week’s cover card winners were Catherine Cantrell, Geraldine Darling, Geneva Foster, Marguerite Radford and Mildred Turner.
Each of these lucky winners received $1 for covering their entire cards first.
For Thursday’s one-line Bingo, each of the participants received 50 cents just for playing.
We are extremely grateful to the supporters of the Second Wind Dreams foundation for supplying gifts and prizes for our Bingo rounds.  This is one of the most popular activities and each resident who would like to play is assisted as needed.
The residents participated in five different sporting events this week.  Bobby Bynum was the first-place finisher of the bucket toss with 19 points.  Ray Crowell was the winner of strikeout and ladder golf with an impressive score for each game.  He also took first place by a small margin in our hockey game, but Sue Bailey was hot on his heels in second place.  Tying for first place in the hula-hoop shoot was Mildred Turner and Daisy Erwin.  Everyone did a great job and had a great time.
The resident council met on Thursday morning with 13 residents and 8 approved employees present.  This meeting is resident-led and allows the residents to voice any concerns, opinions and preferences.  Upcoming events and menu of the month selections are also discussed.  We encourage all residents to attend and have their voices heard.
The residents have started to get into the spirit of Valentine’s Day this week.  A large group gathered on Thursday morning for arts and crafts.  During this activity, they created sweet Valentine’s bear that they have proudly displayed in their rooms.
This week’s social hour featured a medley of tasty junk food.  The residents had potato chips, cookies, ice cream, pudding and mini doughnuts to select from.
We also took time to listen to Elvis music and visit.  It was a wonderful afternoon.
Macedonia Church of Christ and Dresden First Baptist Church conducted our Sunday morning services at their respected times.  Bible Union Baptist Church was with us for Wednesday night Bible study.  Each congregation does an excellent job and we are so thankful to have them with us each week.  Thank you all for being so giving of your time and talents.
We would like to express a sincere thank you to Oak Grove Baptist Church of Dresden for their donation.  This church has continued to support our residents throughout the years and we are extremely thankful.
