The Messenger 03.05.08
The University of Tennessee at Martin Office of Extended Campus and Continuing Education has partnered with online course provider, Ed2Go, to offer “Microsoft Word 2007 in the Classroom” beginning this month. The course will cover the basics of creating, editing, saving and retrieving documents, plus more advanced features such as tables, borders, clip art, WordArt and templates. It will include tips to help educators integrate Word into lesson plans. Classes are six weeks and new sessions begin on March 19, April 16 and May 21. The registration fee is $95. Students can take “Microsoft Word 2007 in the Classroom” from the convenience of home or office and at any time of the day or night. The online courses meet the qualifications for professional development activities that can be used for renewal purposes. If a supervisor approves, a teacher would receive 24 renewal points per course. UT Martin will provide a certificate of completion. For more information, visit the online instruction center at www.utm.edu/departments/ecce and select “teaching professionals.”
