The Messenger Engagement Announcement Information must be submitted typed. Handwritten information will not be accepted. Information for publication in The Messenger MUST BE E-MAILED to dryder@ucmessenger.com. Information submitted through this website will only be posted on this website.
Engagement announcement must be submitted no later than two weeks before the wedding. Please submit the following information: Bride-elect’s full name, followed by city of address What name does she go by? Bride-elect’s parents’ names (note as “the late” if deceased) followed by city of address Bride-elect’s grandparents names (note as “the late” if deceased) followed by city of address Bride-elect’s schools and colleges (with city of location), including graduation year if applicable Bride-elect’s clubs, sororities, college honors (past or present) - Do not abbreviate Present business occupation Groom-elect’s full name, followed by city of address What name does he go by? Groom-elect’s parents’ names (note as “the late” if deceased) followed by city of address Groom-elect’s grandparents names (note as “the late” if deceased) followed by city of address Groom-elect’s schools and colleges (with city of location), including graduation year, if applicable Groom-elect’s clubs, fraternities, college honors (past or present) - Do not abbreviate Present business occupation Wedding date Wedding time Wedding site and location Reception time and location Do you wish for us to include — “All friends and relatives are invited to attend”? The Messenger prints information about engagements, bridal parties, final plans and weddings free of charge. Include a day-time telephone number with all correspondence. Information may be e-mailed to Donna Ryder at dryder@ucmessenger.com. Photos may be e-mailed to that address as well in jpeg format. E-mailed information should be followed up with a phone call to Mrs. Ryder at 885-0744. Both black and white and color photos are acceptable and must be clear. Soft focus photos do not reproduce well. Photographs printed from a computer will not be accepted. Engagements should be submitted before the first bridal party is held and MUST be submitted no later than two weeks before the wedding date. Final plans should be submitted no later than two weeks before the wedding. There is a six weeks deadline for weddings. Photographers should be notified of this deadline. The lack of a photo will not be acceptable for missing the deadline. This deadline is not negotiable. Those who miss the wedding deadline may have their announcement published at the prevailing advertising rate. Information may also be mailed to Donna Ryder at The Messenger, P.O. Box 430, Union City TN 38281 or faxed to (731) 885-0782. Information submitted in the community news section of www.nwtntoday.com will not be published in The Messenger.
