First-place effort
FIRST-PLACE EFFORT — South Fulton High School students T.J. Howard and Chelsea Cox recently placed first among local students who participated in the Balsa Wood Crane Competition during Engineering Day at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Participants constructed balsa wood cranes that were able to lift loads of pennies at least 22 inches. The cranes had to meet design and material specifications. The winner was determined by the crane with the largest load mass-to-crane mass ratio.
