Does making a living planning weddings sound like fun? Now you can get all the training you need to become a professional wedding planner in the new “Wedding Planner Career Certificate Program” being offered by the University of Tennessee at Martin and online course provider Ed2Go. This 170-hour online program will teach participants everything they need to know to either obtain employment with an established bridal consultant or start their own wedding planning business. Students will learn how to plan all the phases of a wedding — from the bridal shower to the ceremony to the reception. They’ll find out how to assist customers in selecting packages and vendors that suit their particular style and budget. They’ll come away ready to plan any type of wedding — formal, informal, religious, ethnic or specialty. “The wedding planning industry is enormous and exciting, and students who want to enter it are wise to begin with this excellent training program,” said David M. Wood, president of the Association of Bridal Consultants. Students can take the “Wedding Planner Career Certificate Program” from the convenience of home or office and at any time of the day or night. For more information about this program, part of a growing catalog of online courses, contact ECCE at (731) 881-7082.
